STEM Exhibition March 2013

5th Apr 2013

This year we held our STEM Exhibition on Tuesday 26 March 2013. Each class from P3 – P7 had to display an aspect of work on a project related to their World Around Us topic. Some of the projects were based on Science, some were Technology based, other work focused on Engineering, whilst some were related to Mathematics (STEM). Some of the children’s work even had aspects of more than one branch of STEM.

Children in each class were timetabled to attend the exhibition at various stages and man their display. Throughout the day parents, visitors from other schools and invited guests had the opportunity to go around and see the displays and chat to the children about their work. The children relished the opportunity to speak about their work and loved showing the visitors their display or projects. This year we added a ’Comments’ board and lots of people took the time to comment on how brilliant the children’s knowledge and enthusiasm for their work was. So well done to those involved, we all agree our STEM Exhbition was a great success!

These were some of the investigations or projects we had on display:

P3 - Create a Safe Playground

P4 - WW2 (Anderson Shelters, Blackout Curtains, Food Rationing)

P5 - Make a Mini Greenhouse

P6 - Flight, Cranes and Weaving

P7 - Rotting potatoes and MIPS (Medics in Primary Schools)
